Pyrius

The Elder Dragon of Fire lives in the burning heart of Vólkus, the volcanic core of Izdefúche.  Pyrius teaches Gavin about the Five Emotions - Joy, Sorrow, Anger, Fear, and Revenge.  She suffers from survivor's guilt, and instead of attempting to embrace joy, she has stewed and dwelled in the darkness of the volcano's fury, letting its power fuel her own bitter resentment and hatred.

To that end, Pyrius takes pleasure in torturing Gavin, punishing him because she hates humanity for slaughtering her species two hundred fifty years earlier.  She forces him to face his deepest darkest fears, enjoying his terror until he learns to harness his own rage and the fire it allows him to conjur.
